Men and Women Empowering Each Other
On Saturday March 13, 2010 “Fathers Who Care” hosted their first Men and Women empowerment event. The distinguished panelist included Reverend Dr. Marshall E. Hatch of New Mount Pilgrim Church, Dr. Alicia E.
La Hoz a clinical psychologist and Director of The Healthy Marriage Initiative, Attorney Jeffery Leving an advocate for Fathers Rights, Yvette Moyo co-founder of Real Men Cook, Dr. Michael James founder of HOPE (Helping Oppressed People Emerge) organization and author of Absent and Brother to Brother and Patricia A. Bates Entrepreneur and Communication Specialist attending University of Illinois at Chicago and the facilitator and founder of Fathers Who Care Minister Walter A. Jones.
The event was very successful in bringing men and women together in an open forum setting to empower and restore all types of relationships. We explored everything from healing, restoration, friendship, courtship and healthy
marriages. Relationship skits were presented that left the audience thinking as well as sharing their own personal experiences. Audience participation in communication activities helped to enhance and reinforce learning. The expertise of the panelists provided sound and practical advice in relationship building and made the event a memorable one. This event marked an evolution in men and women relationships growing from finger pointing and blaming to empowerment and restoration. The echoes of the audience majority “when is the next forum” the answer, STAY TUNED THE BEST IS YET TO COME!..….
